We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Consultant to lead and coordinate all electrical regulatory submissions and approvals for a complex infrastructure-based power project in Singapore. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of local statutory requirements and experience navigating submissions with authorities including SP Group (SPPG), NEA, EMA, and BCA.
Key Attributes/Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of electrical design and infrastructure approvals to:
• SP Group (SPPG) for grid connection applications
• Energy Market Authority (EMA) for licensing, registration, and safety-related documentation
• Building and Construction Authority (BCA) for power-related approvals within overall building scope
• National Environment Agency (NEA) for electrical systems that interface with environmental or process systems
• Provide technical oversight on single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and load studies in line with submission requirements
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, automation) to align electrical systems with authority and project requirements
• Manage liaison with authority officers, clarify technical queries, and ensure fast-tracked approvals with minimal resubmissions
• Track all submission milestones and manage timelines to align with EPC construction and commissioning schedules
• Advise project team on regulatory changes, risks, and mitigation strategies
• Provide support during audits, inspections, and authority site visits when required
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in Singapore dealing with regulatory submissions to SPPG, EMA, NEA, and BCA
• Prior involvement in power infrastructure, energy-intensive facilities, or utility interfacing projects
• Strong understanding of grid connection, electrical licensing, and compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with local codes: SS638, CP5, and EMA Technical Guidelines
