Work Location: Brunei

Our Client, is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join a leading process plant in Brunei.

Job Duties:

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team comprising maintenance engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other technical personnel responsible for rotating and static equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment in downstream petrochemical, oil & gas, and process plant environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, turbines, agitators, mechanical seals, gear systems, conveying systems, and centrifuges.
  • Supervise maintenance of static equipment including pressure safety valves (PSVs), valves, pipelines, reactors, columns, tanks, and heat exchangers.
  • Guide the planning and scheduling team in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) for resource management, work scheduling, and reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and review maintenance work packs, procedures, and plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Drive performance improvement by implementing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the mechanical team.
  • Conduct and oversee root cause analyses (RCA) and reliability assessments to improve equipment uptime and reduce failures.
  • Ensure compliance with clients' maintenance strategies, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards, and ISO quality management procedures.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • At least 12 years of relevant maintenance experience in downstream petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial process plant sectors.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity leading maintenance teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in the maintenance and troubleshooting of both rotating and static mechanical equipment.
  • Proficient in CMMS systems with practical experience in maintenance planning and resource allocation.
  • Skilled in developing comprehensive maintenance documentation including work packs, standard operating procedures, and maintenance schedules.
  • Familiarity with reliability tools and root cause analysis methodologies is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement performance tracking systems (e.g., KPIs) and continuous improvement practices.
  • Knowledge of HSE, quality assurance protocols, and ISO compliance requirements.
