Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Package Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, specification, procurement, and technical oversight of electrical equipment packages for our projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and vendor management experience to ensure electrical systems meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical equipment package specifications, including motors, generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and control panels
• Perform technical evaluations of vendor proposals and bids for electrical packages
• Review and approve vendor documentation, drawings, and calculations
• Coordinate with vendors during design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases
• Develop and maintain electrical one-line diagrams, load lists, and other technical documentation
• Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks on electrical package designs
• Perform electrical system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and protection coordination
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications
• Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure integration of electrical packages with overall project design
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety reviews related to electrical systems
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and start-up activities
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during project execution and commissioning
• Mentor junior electrical engineers and designers
• Develop technical solutions for complex electrical engineering challenges
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering with at least 5 years focused on package engineering
• Demonstrated experience with medium and low voltage power distribution systems
• Strong knowledge of international electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, etc.)
• Experience with electrical equipment for hazardous area classifications
• Proficiency in electrical design software and power system analysis tools
• Experience with industrial control systems, VFDs, and motor control centers
• Knowledge of power generation and distribution systems
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems integration

Preferred Experience

• Experience with offshore or marine electrical systems
• Knowledge of FPSO, platform, or vessel electrical systems
• Familiarity with classification society requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register)
• Experience with power management systems
• Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, or maritime industries
• International project experience
