- Plan, assign and monitor resources to ensure optimal productivity and timely project delivery.
- Review and interpret technical specifications; prepare job lists, work schedules, material take-offs and manpower plans for yard personnel and contractors.
- Identify potential technical or manpower constraints and proactively inform relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks.
- Review and approve material requirements; coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely material delivery.
- Forecast manpower allocation, material arrivals and facility readiness to support project execution.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Commercial, Subcontractors and other trades to align procedures and schedules.
- Represent the department in production, operations and management meetings.
- Attend meetings with clients to address engineering clarifications and technical queries.
- Promote and enforce compliance with safety, quality, environmental and occupational health standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to meet project and compliance requirements.
- Monitor project milestones, logistics and commercial controls to ensure successful execution.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource utilization and material control to minimize wastage.
- Ensure proper documentation including Risk Assessments (RA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), internal and external audit documentation and operational reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to Permit-to-Work systems and safe work procedures.
- Oversee timely completion of work-done reports and project documentation.
- Promote good housekeeping and safe work practices onboard vessels and in workshops.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational requirements.
Requirements
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in the marine, shipyard or similar industrial environment.
- Experience in project planning, manpower coordination, material management and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with marine safety standards, quality systems and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems within marine or industrial environments.
- Effective planning, organizational and resource management skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards.
Certifications
- Relevant professional or safety certifications (e.g., workplace safety, marine safety or engineering certifications) are advantageous.
