Company operating hours: 

• 8.00am – 5.30pm, Monday – Thursday
• 8.00am – 4.00pm, Friday
• Can decide a fixed 3 days work week with supervisor. Most likely is Mon - Wed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent starch analysis and other laboratory analysis
• Able to execute independently starch analysis in terms of physical and application properties
• This will include jet cooking, handsheet marking and reactivity test
• Conduct starch bench marking test with the guidance from supervisor
• Support day-to-day operations of NSPI Technical Center
• Upkeep of laboratory supplies - Source quotations, raise PO and make payment with proper book keeping
• Process sample request from technical service
• Keep track of incoming sample
• Partake in the safety activities of both the lab and the company
• Support new Product Development and application projects
• Setting up lab apparatus
• Keying of data and conduct appropriate data processing
• Conduct basic lab testing independently
• Support any other general administrative duties/ad-hoc projects as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 1 year’s experience in research and development role across various material science applications.
• Minimum a diploma in Material Science / Technology
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Detailed and well organized
• Good team player and strong networking skills
• Able to multitask and independent
