Role Summary
We are looking for a passionate and strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth across our therapeutic food lines-GentleFoods and upcoming new businesses. You will play a key role in building B2B partnerships with healthcare institutions, aged care operators, government agencies, and retail channels, while identifying opportunities for product-market fit, expansion, and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Growth & Partnerships
o Identify, develop, and manage B2B and institutional sales pipelines (e.g. nursing homes, hospitals, dialysis centers, VWOs).
o Secure partnerships with distributors, foodservice operators, and government programs.
o Propose and negotiate commercial models tailored to each sector's needs (private vs public, community vs clinical).
o New Business Acquisition (Vending Channel Focus). Identify and approach potential new vending locations across healthcare institutions, eldercare facilities, community centres, workplaces, and public spaces.
o Conduct feasibility studies for proposed vending machine placements, including foot traffic, demographic suitability, and operational logistics.
o Develop customised proposals and presentations for site owners, landlords, or facilities management teams.
o Forge long-term partnerships with key ecosystem players such as: Government and community agencies (e.g. AIC, HPB, MOH)i.e. Hospitals, clinics, and polyclinics
o Work with foodservice providers and caterers to explore hybrid meal distribution models.
o Lead pilot deployments of vending machines in new verticals (e.g., dialysis centres, eldercare facilities, community kitchens).
o Support the development of location-specific marketing campaigns to increase awareness and uptake.
• Market Development
o Evaluate new market opportunities in the therapeutic nutrition and healthy aging sectors.
o Drive pilot programs and business cases for new product categories (e.g. kidney-friendly meals, soft protein add-ons).
o Collaborate with marketing to support GTM (go-to-market) plans for new products.
• Stakeholder Engagement
o Liaise with healthcare professionals, dietitians, and procurement leads to position products as clinical-grade, cost-effective solutions.
o Represent the brand in industry events, conferences, and partnership forums.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
o Work closely with R&D, operations, and regulatory teams to align offerings with client feedback and clinical needs.
o Support tenders, grant applications, and project rollouts with business and market insights.
Deliverables
• Achieve 50 vending machines in Singapore for next 3 years.
• Yearly revenue to achieve of at least $1M for GentleFoods or new upcoming therapeutic meals.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, Nutrition, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in B2B sales, business development, or healthcare partnerships.
• Strong network within healthcare, eldercare, or foodservice sectors in Singapore.
• Proven track record of securing and growing institutional accounts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
• Experience in therapeutic or medical nutrition sales.
• Familiarity with MOH/AIC procurement processes and grant structures.
• Passion for food innovation and healthcare transformation.
