Our client is a multinational banking group with well established presence across Asian markets, serving a broad range of clients including corporates, institutional clients, private equity and sophisticated investors. They are actively hiring for a Project Senior Officer, Trade Finance to support their Operations department in trade finance transactions and IEB projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and solution proposals for Operations projects (primarily IEB), including business and system enhancements, process transformation, and new system implementations.
• Coordinate and execute system testing for Operations (mainly IEB), serving as the key liaison with Head Office and IT teams.
• Partner with BAU staff to understand daily operational processes and system workflows.
• Investigate and resolve system issues arising from daily operations in collaboration with BAU teams.
• Maintain working knowledge of both global and local clearing systems such as SWIFT and MEPS+.
• Provide backup support for IEB BAU functions, including:
• Processing Trade Finance transactions in accordance with operational guidelines, verifying supporting documentation, securing approvals, system input, and posting necessary accounting entries.
• Handling remittance transactions (e.g., MEPS008, MEPS009, etc.)
• Responding professionally to customer inquiries on products and services.
• Maintaining accurate records and proper filing of all Trade Finance documentation.
• Preparing and transmitting relevant SWIFT messages for Trade Finance activities.
• Escalating exceptions or complex issues to supervisors for guidance.
• Preparing daily, monthly, MAS, and ad-hoc Trade Finance reports.
• Assisting in the review and update of the Import & Export Bills Operations Manual.
• Closely monitoring and following up on outstanding or pending transactions.
• Managing incoming SWIFT messages, updating registers, and routing them to relevant parties.
• Acknowledging and distributing IEB incoming SWIFT transactions.
• Supporting customer internet banking processing.
• Performing loan administration tasks including fixed deposits, corporate (syndicated/bilateral) loans, personal loans, and safekeeping of original documents and collateral.
• Executing daily treasury settlements and clearing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.
• Proven experience in Operations projects and system testing.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience across Trade Finance products (e.g., L/C, L/G, collections, invoice financing, bill discounting, forfeiting, etc.).
• Familiarity with global and domestic clearing systems such as SWIFT and MEPS+.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive with a positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and demonstrate maturity in handling responsibilities.
