Business Development Manager (Reputable Law Firm)

Job Overview:

The Business Development Manager will play a key strategic and client-facing role in driving the firm's growth across Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region. This position requires a deep understanding of the legal industry, client relationship management and business strategy to identify opportunities enhance client engagement, and support practice group development.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business development and marketing strategies aligned with the firm's overall goals.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities and emerging client needs.
  • Support partners and practice heads in business planning, client targeting, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Work closely with partners to strengthen client relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and manage client feedback programs, client visits, and relationship reviews.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining CEM systems and client databases.
  • Manage the preparation of proposals, capability statements, and RFP responses.
  • Collaborate with partners and lawyers to craft persuasive and tailored pitch materials.
  • Track and analyses win/loss ratios and feedback to continuously improve proposal quality.
  • Oversee firm-wide branding, digital presence, and public relations initiatives.
  • Develop content and campaigns for thought leadership articles, seminars, webinars, and industry events.
  • Ensure consistency in firm messaging and alignment with global marketing standards (if applicable).
  • Support practice groups in identifying sector-specific opportunities and client expansion plans.
  • Track market and regulatory developments impacting key industries such as banking, real estate, energy, and technology.
  • Provide data and analytics to partners for decision-making and reporting.
  • Liaise with the marketing knowledge management, and finance teams to support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Deliver training and guidance to lawyers on BD best practices and client relationship management.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years business development or marketing experience, ideally in a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of the Singapore legal market and regional business landscape.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and projects independently.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
