- Market strategy: Develop and execute short and long term business development strategies to align with the company's overall growth objectives. This includes market research, competitive analysis, and identifying emerging industry trends and technologies.
- Business growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in various sectors, such as commercial, industrial, government, and healthcare.
- Lead generation: Generate, qualify, and follow up on leads through multiple channels, including networking, industry events, referrals, cold calls, and digital platforms.
- Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, as well as with key stakeholders in real estate.
- Tender and proposal management: Oversee the entire tender process, from preparing competitive bids and proposals to negotiating contracts. This involves collaborating with operations, procurement, and internal stakeholders.
- Solution development: Work with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored, innovative solutions. This requires a deep understanding of IFM services and related built environment technologies.
- Operational transition: Manage the seamless transition of newly secured projects to the operations team, ensuring successful mobilization within the agreed-upon timeline and budget.
Required skills and qualifications
- Industry experience: Proven experience in business development within the Facilities Management Environment or a closely related sector with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, Estate Management, or a related field.
- Commercial acumen: A strong understanding of business principles, strategic thinking, and the ability to analyze market trends and profitability.
- Communication and negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to build strong client relationships and close deals.
- Technical knowledge: Familiarity with various hard (e.g., HVAC, electrical) and soft (e.g., cleaning, security) facilities management services, as well as relevant technologies.
- Self-motivation: The drive and ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline, and meet revenue targets in a dynamic environment.
- Relationship building: The capacity to foster long-term, trusting relationships with clients and internal teams.
