KROSSLINKER PTE. LTD.
Application & BD Engineer

About Us

Krosslinker is a venture-backed deep-tech startup developing next-generation aerogel materials that unlock breakthroughs in thermal insulation and energy efficiency. Our innovations span high-performance coatings for buildings and critical infrastructure, to advanced cold-chain packaging solutions.

In May 2025, we won the Grand Prize at the Temasek Foundation Liveability Challenge, standing out from over 1,200 global climate-tech entries. Backed by top cleantech VCs and strategic investors, we recently closed our oversubscribed Pre-Series A round. With new funding, we are setting up our semi-commercial production line in Singapore, expanding customer pilots across Asia-Pacific, and accelerating our path to market scale-up.

We are seeking a technically grounded and hands-on Application & BD Engineer to bridge our R&D, manufacturing, and customer deployment efforts. This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to apply core material science and thermal engineering knowledge to real-world industrial and sustainability problems, while also contributing to early-stage business development and technical sales efforts.

Role Overview

As an Application & BD Engineer, you will play a critical role in translating aerogel material innovations into commercial product solutions. You'll work at the interface of technology development and customer applications, helping drive technical validation, product optimization, and performance benchmarking of our coatings and packaging systems in real-world settings.

In addition, you will support business development activities by preparing technical proposals, assisting in customer trials, and communicating product value during commercial engagements.

What You'll Do

  • Develop experimental plans, pilot protocols, and application testing frameworks to assess product performance in simulated and field conditions
  • Interface with customers to understand technical constraints and performance requirements across use cases such as:
    • Passive cool paints for heat stressed infrastructure
    • Cold-chain packaging of temperature-sensitive goods
    • High temperature coatings for industrial process for thermal management
  • Translate application-level needs into material and system-level design inputs for the R&D team
  • Analyze thermal performance, durability, and failure data, and iterate product design accordingly
  • Develop product documentation such as technical datasheets, thermal simulation models, and application notes
  • Support business development and commercial discussions with technical feasibility analyses and application prototyping
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to prepare technical inputs for proposals, presentations, and customer engagements, ensuring our solutions are well-positioned against customer needs
  • Participate in customer demos and pilot trials, helping to showcase product performance and value

Preferred Background & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics
  • Experience in cold-chain packaging, thermal insulation, building materials, or functional coatings preferred
  • Exposure to customer-facing roles, technical support, or solution engineering is a strong plus
  • Experience in customer engagement, proposal preparation, or business development for technical products is highly valued
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts persuasively in a commercial context
  • Curiosity to dive deep into both material-level innovation and system-level performance
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams across R&D, product, and commercial teams
  • Strong documentation and communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ambitious, confident, curious and decisive amidst ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Enjoy the energy, impact, steep learning curves and fast pace of startups
  • Believe that awesome things are MADE to happen

Fresh graduates with relevant academic projects or internships will also be considered. This is a full-time job located in Singapore. You must be interested in a commitment of at least two years with a desire to continue and contribute to the company's future.
