The Business Development Director (Construction) is responsible for driving business growth, securing new contracts, and expanding the company's presence in the construction and infrastructure sectors. This role involves building long-term client relationships, identifying tender opportunities, and leading bid strategies to achieve the company's revenue and market share objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Strategy

• Develop and execute business development strategies to grow the company's portfolio in building, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.
• Identify and pursue opportunities in both private and public sector projects, including tenders, design & build contracts, and long-term frameworks.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategy.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, government agencies, and main contractors.
• Lead negotiations on high-value contracts, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Represent the company at industry networking events, conferences, and trade shows.

Tender & Proposal Management

• Oversee pre-qualification, bid submissions, and tender presentations.
• Work closely with estimating, commercial, and project delivery teams to prepare competitive proposals.
• Ensure tender compliance and alignment with client requirements.

Revenue & Performance

• Drive sales pipeline, ensuring consistent conversion of opportunities into awarded projects.
• Meet or exceed annual revenue, margin, and business growth targets.
• Provide accurate business forecasts and market intelligence to senior management.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team.
• Collaborate with project, operations, and technical teams to support delivery excellence.
• Establish KPIs and monitor progress against business development objectives.
