The Business Development Manager trainee will support the growth and sustainability of the coffeeshop by identifying new business opportunities, improving customer engagement, and streamlining daily operations. The trainee will be trained to enhance product offerings, explore strategic partnerships, and implement marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and relevant regulations.

2. Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and optimize financial operations.

3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and provide regular updates on budget performance to senior management.

4. Oversee payroll administration, ensuring timely and accurate payments, tax deductions, and benefits administration.

5. Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

6. Ensure effective employee relations by addressing employee concerns, providing guidance on policies, and fostering a positive work environment.

7. Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.

8. Oversee and ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and labor requirements related to employee management and financial practices.

9. Coordinate training programs and professional development opportunities for employees to enhance skills and drive organizational growth.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

1. Basic market research and customer profiling

2. Menu engineering and cost analysis

3. Fundamentals of food safety and hygiene practices

4. Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems and manual record-keeping for daily sales tracking

5. Inventory and supply chain management for small-scale F&B operations

6. Digital literacy for setting up basic business listings (e.g., Google Maps, Google Reviews)

7. Use of mobile apps and simple design tools (like Canva) to create promotional visuals and signage

8. Cash flow tracking and budgeting to ensure daily operational sustainability

9. Basic business writing and documentation skills for grant reporting, supplier communication, and operational planning

Duration of Traineeship/Attachment Offered - 6 months

Mature Mid Career Individuals - $2,700

This Position is open for mid career individuals (Mature, 40 years and above).

Mid Career individuals from any qualifications level can apply.
