Responsibilites:

- Head of Discipline is the Corporate Engineering Manager of Topside Mechanical Discipline which all topside mechanical engineering resources belong to and supports all projests to supply them with mechcanical engineers including recruitment.
- Takes lead to develop corporate technical standards/procedures, work flow, engineering platform (e.g. mechanical design data integration) and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lesson Learnts.
- Manages all topside mechanical resources and monitor feasibility studies/FEED/EPCI project progress to assign appropriately competent resource to each prospective/ongoing project as per the close communication with Project Management Teams (PMTs).
- Custodian of Lesson Learnts database for Project execution and Operation & Maintenance phases and disseminate them to all project teams to ensure agile preventive or mitigative actions and design standardization.
- Acts as Project Discipline Lead - Topside Mechanical concurrently and therefore, the candidate requires hands-on topside mechcanical engineering experience.
- Reports to Head of Engineering and update area of concerns, project manning plan, project progress and forecasts periodically (e.g. weekly basis) and attend corporate periodic meeting (e.g. weekly).
- Develops career development plan for each engineer/designer and provides opportunities to attend international conferences, training courses etc. This role may require travel to the US, Europe, and Asia. The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based at Houston/Seoul/Amsterdam and other locations as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for offshore projects in the future.

Requirements:

- Minimum Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 20 years' experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry.
- Minimum consecutive 10 years experience at top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor (minimum 10 years working experience in the same contractor).
- Minimum 2 FPSO EPCI Project experience from the begining of project (engineering) until the sail-away to site or delivery of FPSO.
- Minimum 2 FPSO FEED/EPCI Project experience as a Project Lead - Topside Mechanical including Topsides Mechanical Conceptual / Feasibility Studies.
- Hands-on mechanical engineering experience in FPSO or Offshore EPCI projects including mechanical equipment tender handling and vendor coordination.
- Hands-on Field Engineering in Construction phase or Onshore/Offshore commissioing experience is value-added.
- Versed with Mechanical Engineering Tool such as HTRI is value added.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering practices, principles, industry codes and standards- as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving with capacity to manage corporate functions as well.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate of this position will have a strong leadership and background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, an expert in Topsides Mechanical Engineering, and provide strategic focus in the Topsides Mechanical Engineering for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) projects of FPSO, FLNG or offshore facilities.
