You will be part of the Industry Service Business Unit that provides inspection and assessment on petrochemical and chemical plants pipelines for refineries, storage tanks and off-shore platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections on piping, components at site for both external and internal corrosion of piping and equipment
• Identify piping/equipment from PFS, PEFS or GA drawings
• Read piping on Isometric drawings and understand the dimensions, materials, piping components, process conditions
• Read equipment drawings and understand size, thickness, material, component, process condition
• Determine the severity of corrosion/damage - remaining thickness, and size and pattern of corrosion
• Identify area and location for NDT, and liaise with NDT contractors, review and compile all NDT reports in an accurate and concise manner
• Monitor the quality and productivity of work done by NDT team and ensure that it is in accordance to correct work procedures
• Review and summarize the inspection history, sort out the inspection focus areas
• Calculate corrosion rate and remaining life
• Recommend for maintenance and repair work with clear scope
• Provide quality assurance for maintenance and repair work and assure it is done as per quality requirement/ITP, Code/Standard requirement
• Supervise other special inspection work, such as abseiling, drone inspection or remote visual inspection
• Draft proper inspection report and keep all inspection records in WIMS system in timely manner
• Set the next inspection interval and scope.

1. Plan inspection work on daily, weekly and monthly base and report progress to engineers
2. Obtain operation condition from operation and process technologist
3. Observe company procedures, safety rules and statutory requirements in executing inspections of piping, equipment and repair work

Key Requirements:

• Diploma qualified holder with at least 3 years of inspection experience in oil/petrochemical industries and relevant API certificates (API570 or API510) OR have a minimum of six years inspection experience in oil/petrochemical industries
• Hold valid OPSOC, Bukom SIC passes
• Able to perform QA of all piping/equipment repair work and liaise with contractor, maintenance & operation personnel
• Ability to interpret basic NDT (radiography, UT, PT, MPI) results
• Ability to review the working procedures, ITP
• Good knowledge of pressure equipment and piping manufacturing Code, like ASME, API as well as welding processes
• Good knowledge of materials and pipes/equipment used in the refinery and their damage mechanism
