We are looking for a Research Fellow to drive innovation in soft and stretchable electronic systems by addressing critical challenges in interconnect design, enabling their extensive deployment in advanced applications. The successful candidate will leverage expertise in mechanical sensors, flexible electronics, soft robotics, and intelligent material systems to develop next-generation technologies for robotics, bioelectronics, and haptic sensing. This role is ideal for an independent researcher with a strong background in materials science, mechanical engineering, and stretchable electronics, eager to push the boundaries of soft interconnects and dynamic surface engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on soft interconnects, multifunctional sensors, and adaptive materials for stretchable electronics.
  • Design, fabricate, and optimize soft electronic devices, including mechanical sensors, artificial skin, and biomimetic haptic systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the deployment of next-generation flexible and stretchable electronic systems.
  • Assist in grant writing.
  • Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.
  • Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences .
  • Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.


Job Requirements:
  • PhD degree in materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Strong research background in soft robotics, flexible/stretchable electronics, bioelectronics, and sensor technology.
  • Expertise in soft and flexible actuators, stretchable strain/mechanical sensors, electronic skins, and haptic interfaces.
  • Proficiency in mechanical testing, electrical testing, materials characterization, system integration
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of design and assemble of device prototypes.
  • Candidates with publications in top-tier scientific journals are preferred.
