The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a Research Fellow with a strong understanding of unsaturated soil mechanics and extensive laboratory experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct soil testing and field monitoring using advanced instrumentation to assess tree-root stability
  • Constructing soil-water characteristic curves
  • Perform triaxial test for unsaturated soil, soil-water characteristic experiments, field instrumentation installation, and results analysis
  • Fieldwork includes sensor deployment, scheduled maintenance, and site supervision.


Job Requirements
  • PhD degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnics
  • Strong understanding of unsaturated soil mechanics
  • Experience with lab testing and sensors
  • Proficiency in electronics, particularly with soil testing sensors, is also required.
  • Comfortable with experimental testing and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication and writing skills are essential for effective teamwork.
  • Able to work independently and contribute to team efforts.
