A Senior Research Fellow position is available in the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. This project will be executed at CNRS International-NTU-Thales research alliance and School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Nanyang Technological University.

Job Description:

• Executing and Leading scientific and industry-oriented R&D projects
• Mentoring PhD students and other research staff involved in the project
• Continuous contact and reporting to industrial collaborators and national funding agencies
• Performing detailed study on the current state-of-the-art technology
• Materials selection suitable for targeted applications
• Thin film growth using different physical vapor deposition (PVD) techniques and characterization using state-of-the-art surface characterization techniques
• Preparing technical reports and publication of results in high impact factor journals
• Preparing proposals and participating in public grant calls

Job Requirements:

• Possess a PhD degree or equivalent in Materials Science and Engineering, Physics or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• More than two years of experience in R&D environment is highly desirable but not essential
• Experience and background in surface science, physical or chemical vapor deposition techniques
• Solid background on materials characterization techniques including XPS, SEM, TEM, XRD and Raman spectroscopy is desirable
• Project management experience is desirable
• Previous experience on mentoring PhD students is desirable
• Good publication record
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with external agencies and lead/facilitate projects with minimal supervision
• Contribution to Journal/Conference papers with good presentation skills
