Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Inspector to support a large-scale power plant construction project. The role involves inspecting mechanical installation works to ensure compliance with approved inspection plans, technical specifications, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of mechanical works in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), drawings, and specifications.
• Inspect installation of mechanical systems, including piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, ducting, and turbines.
• Verify construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Witness pressure testing, alignment checks, equipment installation, and testing activities.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and QA/QC personnel to resolve quality-related issues.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation.
• Ensure inspection activities comply with workplace safety and site requirements.
• Participate in punch list inspections, pre-commissioning, and system handover activities.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical inspection for construction or industrial projects.
• Experience in power plants or large industrial projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with welding inspection, NDT, pressure testing, and coating inspection.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI, or NDT) are required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
