Job Summary

The Project Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules for fire protection installation works. The role ensures timely project execution by coordinating with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, while maintaining accurate planning documentation and progress tracking in accordance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Scheduling & Planning

• \tDevelop and maintain detailed project timelines using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.

• \tPrepare baseline schedules, manpower loading, equipment scheduling, and resource planning.

• \tBreak down project scope into work packages and define critical activities.

• \tPlan installation sequencing for fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, alarms, etc.).

2. Progress Monitoring & Control

• \tTrack and update project progress on a weekly/monthly basis.

• \tIdentify delays, risks, and bottlenecks, and propose recovery plans.

• \tConduct schedule impact analysis for design changes, VO works, or site delays.

• \tPrepare progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.

3. Coordination & Communication

• \tWork closely with Project Manager, Site Engineers, QS, and Coordination teams.

• \tLiaise with clients, consultants, and main contractors on schedule submissions.

• \tAttend project meetings to report scheduling status and highlight critical issues.

• \tCoordinate with procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

4. Documentation & Compliance

• \tMaintain accurate planning documents, logs, and version-controlled schedules.

• \tEnsure schedules comply with contractual requirements and project specifications.

• \tSupport preparation of monthly progress claims with accurate progress tracking.

• \tAssist in documentation for BCA, SCDF, and other authorities when required (if related to schedule).

Requirements

Education & Experience

• \tDiploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

• \tMinimum 2-5 years of planning experience in construction.

• \tExperience in fire protection or M&E projects is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

• \tProficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.

• \tGood understanding of fire protection installation processes and workflow.

• \tKnowledge of construction sequencing, resource planning, and project controls.

• \tUnderstanding of ACMV/M&E systems is a plus.

Soft Skills

• \tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• \tGood communication and coordination abilities.

• \tAbility to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

• \tDetail-oriented with strong sense of responsibility.

Additional Information (Optional)

• \tKnowledge of PPVC, BIM scheduling (4D), or digital planning tools is an advantage.

• \tSite experience in fire protection projects is a strong added benefit.
