Job Description:

Responsible for the efficient and effective control of the process plant operation and production-related equipment for the assigned unit, in compliance with MODEC procedures, national and international regulations and standards, thus ensuring the unit's availability, safe operation and the production and revenue target achievement, contributing to the business continuity and its growth.

Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for the efficient and effective control of the process plant operation and production-related equipment for the assigned unit, in compliance with MODEC procedures, national and international regulations and standards, thus ensuring the unit's availability, safe operation and the production and revenue target achievement, contributing to the business continuity and its growth.

Core Responsibilities
  • Control and carry out process plant operation and production-related equipment via FCS and other control panels, under the direction of Production Supervisor and with the support from Operators' team, including operational routines, monitoring, controlling and operational optimization of the process plant, sampling and chemical analyses, start/stop and isolations of equipment, commissioning/decommissioning and operational alignments/maneuvers, in order to ensure that the production systems of the platform are operated according to the project and its operating philosophy, thus optimizing production performance and chemical consumption.
  • Contribute to the unit's annual budget planning (expenses and investments), by participating of the corporate planning, providing information about resources, replacements, services and materials needs and other expenses used in its activities, liaising with Supervisors and Technicians to ensure accurate information.
  • Contribute to an effective response to emergencies on board by being part of the Emergency Response Team, participating in all trainings, simulations and acting properly in a real situation, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, guidelines, as well as national and international regulations and best practices.
  • Support the offshore and onshore leaderships in the interface and contact with the client, authorities and internal stakeholders., by providing faithful information regarding operation's and control room routine and indicators, when requested by Production Supervisor.
  • Contribute to the MODEC's Permit to Work management systems' implementation, by acting as Permit user of PTW for the task performed, in accordance with MODEC's procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of fleet performance by participating on, when requested, RCAs, investigations of NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, following up or acting upon CAPAs, sharing lessons learned and promoting a culture of continuous seek for performance and integrity enhancement opportunities.
  • Act proactively to safeguarding MODEC from noncompliance to legal/regulatory requirements by following MODEC's procedures, management systems, client guidelines, internal and external regulations, national and international standards, participating in audits and inspections in the unit, developing and ensuring the implementation of action plans when required.
  • Guarantee the proper use of Technical Support departments, by ensuring that technical queries are properly identified, recorded in the system, and always directed to Onshore departments for review/study, promoting a culture adherent to the company's systems.
  • Contribute to enhance MODEC's procedures, by constantly evaluating the department activities and seeking improvement opportunities, sharing lessons learned with Technical Support departments and Operations leadership, participating in procedures' review, following MODEC's Philosophy, manufacturer recommendation, and personnel experience.
  • Ensure the proper communication regarding the department activities developed onboard, by assisting in the preparation of the OIM Daily Report, as well as periodic and on demand reports for the client, authorities, or leadership.
  • Communicate to the Production Supt all production or safety systems' emergency, by providing accurate and relevant information immediately, request technical advice as necessary and prepare, follow up and close out any necessary vendor assistance on board for the Production department, in liaison with relevant leaderships.
  • Contribute to the operational performance by inhibiting and overriding controller, when required, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, and properly registering all occurrences in the production and safety / emergency systems.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Production Supervisor whenever designated by the OIM or Production Superintendent, complying with all training, procedures and responsibilities relevant to the function.
  • Contribute with the quality of Production works performed by core crew or vendors, by providing them with adequate and suitable information, as directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Contribute to the proper response to emergencies and shutdowns, understanding and applying PSD, ESD and C&E (cause & effects diagram) diagrams.

  • HSSE: Act in compliance with the corporate HSSE Management System Policy, the MODEC Life Saving Rules, and the policies, guides, process standards and work instructions available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Act to promote the preservation of the environment, the health and occupational safety (personnel and their team), the safety of processes, and the preservation of assets in their scale of responsibility.
  • Ethics and Compliance: In compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, as well as with MODEC Group Ethics and Compliance Policies and Local Procedures, their respective forms, online and live mandatory trainings is committed to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and obligations and act in accordance with the highest ethical standards and with MODEC values.
  • Emergency Plan: As per indication on the Training Matrix, Emergency Management Guide and Offshore Emergency Management, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

  • Complies with Authorization Matrix Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Work Relationships
  • As per indication on the Organizational Chart, provided by the company.

Job Challenges and Problem Solving
  • Monitor all production indicators while guiding the Operators' team in the field maneuvers, due to high level of simultaneous attention that both activities require.
  • Work in shifts due to continuous operation and constant personnel presence required, being necessary to invert the shifts of work during the offshore period.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience is expected; Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas area is expected.
  • Previous experience as Production Operator in F(P)SO units is required.
  • Previous experience in Production Control Rooms is required.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing and utility systems are expected.
