C-level / ExecutiveStatement Of Purpose (Overall Purpose of Job)
Responsible for the financial management of projects i.e., quantity surveying, procurement and contract administration. Managing and controlling the costs and budget, ensure the projects are within budget, deliver on time and to the required quality standard.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
(A) Specific:
- Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and submissions for tenders.
- Perform quantity take-off and site measurement.
- Prepare and analyze measurement for tender, budget and post-tender.
- Request, evaluate and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Update and maintain the price comparison and procurement table.
- Review with the manager and prepare subcontract/ supplier award.
- Update the outstanding list and ensure procurement is completed within budget and on time.
- Assist in controlling project costs and monitoring the budget.
- Understand the project’s contract scope and requirements and monitor project progress
- Attend and prepare for project, tender, procurement meetings as needed.
- Evaluate, prepare, and issue progress payment certificates and back charge on time.
- Prepare and submit progress claims and variation orders/quotations on time.
- Prepare and finalize accounts, including compiling a full set of measurements for the Final Account Submission.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and both project and in-house teams for effective project execution and cost control.
- Assist with project contractual matters and correspondence.
- Conduct site visits and attend site meetings as necessary.
(B) General:
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of drawings in accordance with ISO standards where applicable.
- Collaborate and cooperate effectively with team members within the department.
- Coordinate with other departments.
- Prepare required reports.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
(C) Safety:
- Follow the Company safety procedures, rules and regulations and eliminate or reduce hazard at the work place.
Job Requirements
(A) Education, Qualifications & Special Training:
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or any other relevant discipline.
- Job applicant without the above qualification but with relevant experience would be considered.
(B) Knowledge & Skills:
- Independent, proactive and self-motivated.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Good negotiation and coordination skills.
- Strong time management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
(C) Experience:
- Preferably with relevant working experience in related fields or the building construction industry.
- Job applicant with no experience will also be considered.
