About Our Client

The company is a reputable organization in the marine logistics industry.

Job Description

  • Manage sourcing and purchasing of ship equipment, systems, and parts, including supplier identification, evaluation, and quotation negotiation
  • Obtain competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms while ensuring compliance with company policies and contracts
  • Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders in accordance with approved procedures
  • Review and negotiate contract terms to meet project and organisational requirements
  • Apply knowledge of freight terms, Incoterms, and logistics coordination to support procurement activities
  • Support commercial evaluations and vendor selection in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate procurement logs, PO tracking records, and supplier databases
  • Monitor delivery schedules and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies
  • Coordinate with finance and shipyard commercial teams on invoice verification, payment processing, and documentation control
  • Prepare and provide regular procurement status reports to management
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, shipyard requirements, and classification society rules
  • Support audits and internal reviews as required
  • Recommend and implement improvements to procurement processes and workflows

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven track record of 5-8 years in procurement roles within the marine or shipbuilding sector
  • Possess minimally a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Marine Engineering, Business, or a relevant discipline
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier agreements effectively
  • In-depth understanding of vessel equipment, onboard systems, and marine supplier ecosystems
  • Knowledge of global shipping practices, including Incoterms and international freight logistics
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects and tight project schedules
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and external stakeholders
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle
