Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this position will manage specific procurement areas related to high spending and that is critical to the ship's operation. They will also work on key projects related to innovation to increase efficiency and return on value.

Job Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities

• Manage category spend and achieve cost savings KPI
• Strategic sourcing for new suppliers and service providers
• Manages supplier consolidation plans to optimize spending.
• Manages negotiations of contracts and agreements.
• Proactively provide business updates of selected categories: Conduct demand analysis and monitor markettrends and new developments.
• Conduct on-site supplier audits and supplier performance reviews.
• Track and manage suppliers' compliance with terms of contracts and agreements
• Fostering and managing supplier relationships to secure tangible results.
• Resolve major supplier disputes.
• Assessing future needs and requirements with internal stakeholders.
• Any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of Procurement

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as purchaser with a Ship Owner or Ship Manager and at least 5 years of specific Category Management experience.
• Minimum Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Purchasing Management or any related disciplines.

• Strong knowledge in pricing, product and/or category management.
• Strong strategic and category planning experience.
• Strong negotiation skills & data analysis skills set.
• High sense of integrity and resourcefulness
• Good communication skills - written and spoken English.
• High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Attention to details and ability to meet deadlines.

Travel

• Based in Singapore, the candidate is expected to be able to visit their assigned vendors locally or overseas as required.
