Roles and Responsibilities

• Be part of a team responsible for the smooth, efficient & safe operation of all vessels assigned;
• Assure, in coordination with the crew, the vessel full reliability at all time in respect of Company policy & requirements and applicable rule and regulations.
• monitoring and controlling of the ship's technical maintenance and certification of assigned vessels;
• maintain vessel expenses budget allocated
• checking the status of the PMS system in relation to expired planned maintenance and scheduling of works on monthly basis.
• controlling appropriate sharing of machinery running hours where machinery redundancy is available.
• reporting to the General Manager any contingency or vessel structural /machinery failure which comes to his knowledge and may lead into hazardous or risk situation for the crew, the vessel and its cargo;
• promptly reporting any major no-budgeted expenses;
• coordinating and scheduling vessel class/statutory inspections;
• arranging, follow up and reporting technical support of specialized engineers if so necessary in consultation with General Manager;
• planning /reporting in cooperation with vessel crew corrective repairs of revealed deficiencies, failures and non-conformities raised from vessel inspection;
• examining machinery performance/PMS forms and highlight / report warnings for appropriate action;
• examining bunker/lube oil analysis, and highlight to the vessel non conformities and recommendations;
• carrying out on board vessel inspection, review undertaken works, examine vessel conditions, report any deficiency and work to be done;
• reviewing the vessel class status at each new entry, check survey reports entries /data, notify class of any wrong reported information;
• preliminary reviewing the intended DD machinery spec related to inside /outside ER machinery; to arrange/report full DD spec and preliminary tender comparison.
• supervising and reporting dry-docking works /substantial repairs, verify compliance with approved specification, check works reliability, review measurements /readings records, jobs report, review and concur pro-forma invoice.
• examining and concurring vessel request of services or materials.
• reviewing and concurring service reports;
• evaluating and reporting crew performance as per Company policy;
• record of maintenance and works carried out;
• track records of deficiencies /failure and non-conformity follow up;
• updated list of work to be done;
• on board supt inspection report;
• updated list of vessel coating assessment of cargo, ballast and void compartments;
• reports and records of Class
• updated Class survey status and Flag Administration certificates status;
• analysis report;
• records /of dry-docking works and measurements;
• copy of services report
• updated list of vessel drawings and equipment maker instruction;
• updated of ship's certificates in hard copy;
• copy of in/out correspondence related to each vessel;
- Plan, control and executive all activities conencted with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels
- Provide technical advice and support to the assigned fleet of vessels and particpate in projects relating to technical, energy efficiency, logistical/purchasing and crewing related actitives of the assigned fleet of vessels.
- Overall responsible for preparing and manging the budgets of the assigned vessels and to ensure all assigned vessels comply with regulatory requirements and legislations.
Requirements:
- Seafaring Chief Engineer (COC1) with minimum 2 years of shore-based experiences as Technical Superintendent
- Proven ability to multitask and managing multiple projects and stakeholders
- An independent and resourceful team player with good communication skills
