Programme Executive - Entry Level

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY SINGAPORE LTD
The Programme Executive plays a crucial role in supporting Habitat for Humanity Singapore's core local programme, Project HomeWorks. This individual should be passionate about working with vulnerable individuals and families, transforming their homes into safe and sanitary living spaces.
As an entry-level executive, you will be instrumental in the successful management and execution of Project HomeWorks, including assessing homeowner needs, evaluating living spaces and rehabilitation works required. From there, you will take charge of coordinating and facilitating a range of rehabilitation works from engaging with professional services such as pest control, to working with volunteers on the ground with painting, intensive cleaning and home organisation.
You won't be alone in this effort; You'll collaborate closely with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. Beyond local initiatives, a portion of your role will also involve contributing to managing overseas projects for the Global Village programme.
Responsibilities:
Project HomeWorks (local):
Project Management
• Liaising and communicating with referring partners and social workers from various agencies (Family Service Centre, Active Ageing Centre, Hospital, etc), to assist the beneficiaries and making sure that there is a long-term plan in place for a sustainable change and providing a safe and sanitary homes for the beneficiaries to live in.
• Plan and coordinate projects, ensuring they align with established timelines and budgets.
• Work closely with project teams and volunteers to ensure successful project implementation. This may also involve volunteer recruitment and training.
• Managing project logistics and operations, by packing necessary equipment and materials, ensuring functionality and necessity for determined scope of home rehabilitation works.
• Documenting project details and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
Evaluate home conditions and co-creating solutions
• Evaluate the conditions of the homes (clutter, pest infestation, cleanliness, and willingness of the homeowner) and rehabiliation needs through joint home visits with referring partner.
• Work with homeowners to create solutions through discussion and agreements on works to be done to acheive safe and sanitary living conditions.
Global Village/ Special Projects (Overseas)
Project Management
• Serve as primary liaison with Habitat partners, managing communications regarding proposals, volunteer itineraries and budgets, and all necessary documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Oversee timely submission of reports to Habitat regional and international counterparts.
• Travel overseas as needed to provide on-site oversight and audit project progress.
Volunteer management
• Maintain accurate and timely records in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other internal systems, ensuring data is readily available for reporting and analysis.
• Manage and maintain organised documentation digitally.
• Schedule and coordinate volunteer programmes, leading team briefings and presentations as needed.
• Gather and analyse feedback to continuously improve internal processes
• Effectively manage emergency situations should they arise.
A successful candidate would be
• Possesses strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage beneficiaries, volunteers and partners
• A self-motivated and mature individual who thrives in a team environment and demonstrates strong initiative
• Maintains a reasonable level of physical fitness as the role may involve some physically demanding tasks (Eg. Packing and moving logistics)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and email communication
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• The job involves interaction with beneficiaries who may only speak Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialects. Knowledge of any of such basic conversational language is preferred.
• Possesses a valid Class 3/3A driving license
• Available to work on some weekends (1-2 Saturdays per month)
