We are looking for a dedicated and talented Technical Superintendent to join our highly skilled and motivated Fleet Technical Operations Team. Our Fleet Team is responsible for the technical management of all operated vessels, ensuring compliance with latest industry standards and demands.
Key Responsibilities :
• Reporting to General Manager of Fleet Technical Operations, you will be responsible to ensure efficient and safe daily technical operations of a fleet of Pure Car Carrier vessels (PCC) and Container vessels.

Key Responsibilities :
• Reporting to General Manager of Fleet Technical Operations, you will be responsible to ensure efficient and safe daily technical operations of a fleet of Pure Car Carrier vessels (PCC) and Container vessels.
Job Responsibilities :
- Manage all technical matters and ensure that safety is regarded as a primary responsibility.
- Monitor inventory control of stores and spares, performance of vessels, compliance with all applicable health, safety, security and pollution prevention regulations, certification status of vessels and always ensure that vessels are maintained in seaworthy condition.
- Responsible for maintenance, repairs, planned maintenance and modifications to vessels' hull and machineries.
- To prepare repair specifications and coordinate with various repair firms for effecting major repairs, if any, during, the voyage without incurring delay to vessel.
- Plan, coordinate and execute inspections, dry dockings, lay-up and sale of vessels (in coordination with principals after making cost comparisons with various shipyards and repairers in the most efficient manner.
- Frequent sailing for ships' inspections is required. Able to work in local and overseas shipyards to supervise dry-docking and other services.
- Follow up closely on performance of all vessels, monitor major deficiencies/defects that exist in the vessels and ensure that timely corrective actions are taken in order that the vessels performance and safety is not jeopardized. Ensure that all Charter Party requirements are being fulfilled and identify reasons for deviation if any and take remedial measures.
- Initiate innovations, savings and improvements within the area of responsibility.
- Monitor the quality of all service providers / vendors.
- Maintain regular contact with Classification societies, shipyards, repair firms, industry groups, trade associations, equipment manufacturers and designers, Government bodies and other organizations that may be helpful to carry out the assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Handling of vessels guarantee issues with regards to new buildings.
- Liaising with Charterers, Flag State and Port State Control and ensure that all vessels certification and surveys for class, flag and international requirements are in order and valid.
- Oversee that all items pertaining to health, safety, security and pollution prevention are regularly checked with the aim of achieving high standards of safe and pollution free voyages and general well-being of all on board the vessels. Act as a link between vessels and office.
- Manage annual financial budgets and cost control for maintenance, repairs, stores, modifications, and dry-docking, whilst ensuring compliance with Industry, Class and International regulations. (Project operating cost expenses pertaining to technical items before the yearly budgets are prepared).
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of quarterly financial reporting of vessels expenses to principals.
- Prepare yearly budget for vessels assigned.
- To ensure that all technical reports as required by various principals are timely dispatched.
- To verify all incoming reports from the vessels and identify areas which require immediate attention and take corrective actions.
- To report system non-conformities and verify that correction and preventive actions are implemented and found effective.
- Possess good crisis management abilities to manage marine incidents and accidents.
Who we are looking for:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Possess Certificate of Competency Class 1 and recent sailing experience as Chief Engineer.
- Minimum 9 years of sailing experience and recent 5 years sailing experience in the capacity as 1st Assistant Engineer on foreign going vessels especially pure car carrier and container vessels.
- Understand and appreciate the commercial implications of vessel technical operations.
- Detailed and analytical, and have a safety, cost and quality conscious mindset.
- Open to change management and adaptable to a fast and versatile environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal to perform in an international environment. Able to speak Russian language is an added advantage.
