Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Profs Greg-Tucker-Kellogg (Biological Sciences) on bioinformatics research to understand the detailed role of non-canonical splicing dysregulation in models of human disease

The main responsibilities of the position include:
  • Bioinformatics analysis (in Python, R, and using workflow tools such as Snakemake and Nextflow
  • Development and modification of algorithms used for analysis of transcriptome dysregulatio
  • Report writing

Qualifications

Bachelor or Masters degree in bioinformatics, biotechnology or equivalen

Skills:
  • Demonstrated strong coding skills in Python and R are a must
  • Domain-specific experience in analysis of transcriptome dysregulation and disease-associated alternative splicing
  • Strong workflow development skills in Snakemake or Nextflow
  • Excellent communication in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative, interdisciplinary research.

Experience:
  • At least 1 year of practical research experience in a closely related area
