Deputy Head of IT Operations (Singapore & China)

An excellent Deputy Head of IT Operations role has just arisen at a well-established financial institution, offering the chance to lead critical IT operations across Singapore and China. Work closely with a compact, experienced team to support infrastructure, systems, and security operations-particularly with AS/400 systems in a regulated banking environment.

Job Purpose:
Support and lead daily IT operations and infrastructure across Singapore and China branches.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and support IT operations in the absence of the Head of Department.
• Perform daily system checks, backups, and issue resolution for Singapore and Shanghai offices.
• Manage helpdesk support for users, covering systems, emails, hardware, and network issues.
• Oversee system security, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure compliance activities.
• Coordinate vendor contracts, IT documentation, and system-related regulatory reporting.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in IT, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AS/400 systems, infrastructure, and banking operations.
• Experience leading small teams and managing multi-location IT operations.
• Familiar with project lifecycle, Windows networks, security, virtualization, and compliance.
• Able to work in multicultural environments and meet tight deadlines under pressure.

The Successful Deputy Head of IT must possess a steady and proven track record in banking IT operations, strong infrastructure knowledge, and hands-on AS/400 expertise-especially within compact teams managing cross-border operations.
