Job Responsibilities
- The Candidate will be responsible to ensure all the applications systems remain in good working order.
- The Candidate is expected to take on support of new application systems when they become operational.
- The Candidate will respond to production emergencies in a timely manner based on Client's service Level. This includes bringing up the server (in a crash) or system processes, fixing problems or finding workarounds.
- The Candidate is expected to diligently perform routine checks and to escalate to the Project Manager should any anomaly be detected. The Candidate should show the initiative to alert and troubleshoot together with other system engineers, database administrator (DBA) and outsourced vendors.
- The Candidate is expected to follow through every issue / problem to closure, and complete the necessary documentation as required by Client.
- The Candidate will assist users and answer queries regarding the supported operational systems.
- The Candidate is expected to interface with the helpdesk agents, end-users, integrated applications support teams and external vendors during application support and problem resolution.
- The Candidate is expected to be on standby support on off-office-hours / weekends / public holidays when needed such as during scheduled maintenance, system crash or system upgrade exercise.
- Besides application support, the Candidate is also expected to document changes/enhancements that arise from service requests. The Candidate will follow the Client's technical standards and update the necessary documentation.
- The candidate shall report to the Project Manager in tracking and managing the project timelines and resources that he/she has been assigned to undertake.
Job Requirements
- The Candidate shall possess at least a Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
- The Candidate shall have at least FIVE (5) years of working experience in the IT or Infocomm industry, with exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC). Experience with implementation in Singapore is preferred.
- The Candidate shall have at least TWO (2) years of JAVA development experience using JDK 1.7 and above.
- The Candidate shall have at least TWO (2) years of development experience in Python scripting.
- The Candidate shall have at least TWO (2) years of working experience with one or more of the following.
- Linux
- Apache
- MySQL
- Php
- Perl
- The Candidate shall have at least TWO (2) years of working experience with one or more of the following relational databases and be proficient in using SQL.
- MySQL
- MS-SQL
- PostgreSQL
- MariaDB
- Amazon Aurora
- The Candidate must possess experience in supporting government projects and applications. They shall be proficient in providing Level 1 and Level 2 support for applications, demonstrating the ability to perform the following activities:
- Grants and reactivate access rights for user accounts via requests raised in a ticketing system.
- Assist with system testing and verifications following infrastructure changes and system patches.
- Liaise and follow up with external vendors on Level 2/3 support for troubleshooting issues/incidents and software development for change requests.
- Perform maintenance tasks and documentation reports in periodic and/or unplanned manners (ad-hoc requests), as follows:
- Generate reports for user access, application reviews, and other statistics purposes.
- Perform User management and KPI management tasks.
- Prepare production deployment for bug fixes and system enhancements.
- Monitor schedule jobs / interfaces and follow up with remedy actions when necessary.
- Conduct housekeeping of system logs and project documents when necessary.
- Transcode files (e.g. media, document, etc.) for applications and servers.
- Ingest digital and media content (e.g. photographs/images, audio, etc.) into applications and servers.
- Perform other operational and administrative tasks as assigned or required.Ensure all reported incident tickets and service requests meet the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- The Candidate shall have a good command of English and effective communications skills to interact and coordinate with end-users. This includes gathering user requirements, communicating proposed vendor solution, supporting user acceptance testing, supporting end-user training, and resolving issues with helpdesk agents and external vendors.
- The Candidate shall have a minimum of 2 years working experience in Singapore.
- The Candidate is preferably to have experience and be proficient in designing, developing and maintaining web applications using Microsoft .NET and front-end technologies (i.e. ASP.NET, C#, HTML/DHTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery).
- The Candidate is preferably to have at least TWO (2) years of working experience for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), including web services integration using SOAP and/or REST based web services.
- The Candidate is preferably to have experience in working in Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environment.
