The Translational Biophotonics Laboratory (TBL) at A*STAR Skin Research Labs (SRL) positions itself in developing next-gen optics/photonics-based technologies and platforms for national healthcare priorities and industry needs. We are hiring a Research Officer (RO) to assist the development and testing of biomedical systems including confocal Raman spectroscopy system, endoscopy imaging system, hyperspectral microscopy system, etc.
Job Description:
• Provide general support to the research team, including testing components, optical system operation and building optical modules under guidance
• Data/image acquisition and analysis
• Basic coding in Python, Matlab, LabVIEW
• Summarize, report and present experimental findings to senior staff
• Assisting in clinical studies
• Interface with subject volunteers in clinical studies
• Lab admin duties including maintaining documents, managing inventory and workplace safety
• Ensure clinical studies complied with HBRA and safety policies including liaising with IRB & regulatory body and address ethical concerns, if any.
• Develop experiment protocols for optical system testing and validation
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Masters degree in biomedical, engineering, life science, physics or related field
• Research experience is an advantage
• Being able to process and analyze imaging data using common software (Matlab, Python) is preferred
• Being able to perform thorough literature search to understand a relevant field
• Being able to work in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate initiative and work independently with strong interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills and record-keeping, strong multi-tasking skills are required
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
