The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. A Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Professor Julien Lescar at SBS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Protein expression and purification in E. coli system.
• Macromolecule functional characterization and other binding analysis experiments.
• Structural studies using X-Ray crystallography and Cryo-EM (sample preparation, sample screening, data collection and data processing).
• Assist in drafting research proposals and manuscripts.
• Assist in general lab activities, including but not limited to safety and risk assessment, equipment maintenance, procurement and other related duties.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related fields.
• Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with molecular cloning, protein expression, and purification techniques is highly preferred.
• Experience in X-Ray crystallography and Cryo-EM is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Passion for scientific research and innovation.
