What do we expect of you?

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you lead and manage the stewarding. You are to ensure that all dishes, cookware and cutlery are clean and polished before handing it over to the service crew. You are to ensure that workstations are always clean and organized. Prepare monthly report of breakages or missing items for the Restaurant Manager. You are responsible for ensuring that all dishes, cookware and utensils are stored in their respective allocated locations. You have a good proactive eye for detail and cleanliness. You are well organized. You are composed under pressure, well-groomed and are enthusiastic about service. Your ability to think quickly on your feet and jump in to help your team is appreciated.

How your day looks:
  • Participating and providing support to the steward team
  • Orchestrating team to follow sop's
  • Ensuring that safety protocols are always followed by staff members
  • Set and oversee preventative maintenance schedule for departmental equipment
  • Oversee and conduct bi-weekly cookware inventory stock take and report. Investigate and report
  • Monitor the consumption of chemicals in all machines.
  • Initiates requisition for cleaning materials and other supplies to minimize the wastage or misuse.
  • Developing training programs for new stewards
  • Ensure adequate supplies of cutlery and crockery are available throughout service times
  • Guarantee compliance where relevant (hygiene, licensing, employment etc)
  • Maintain cleanliness of all dish washing equipment
  • Notify Restaurant Manager of any defects or maintenance requirements within areas of responsibility
