Social Tech Apprenticeship (STA)

We're looking for driven individuals who are keen to work on a real digital project with a meaningful social cause. As a STA Apprentice, you'll be attached to Hatch Mediahouse and receive direct mentorship while working on a scoped creative brief from a charity or social enterprise. You'll get hands-on experience across digital communications, and collaborate closely with both our internal team and the client.

You'll be directly reporting to the client for a few days each week to support on their broader communication needs - ranging from design updates to content creation - while also driving your main project forward. Hatch Mediahouse will provide ongoing support to help you grow and succeed during this journey.

In this role, you will:

• Take on a digital project (e.g., website, video, or report) that meets a real client brief
• Collaborate with the client team and understand their needs and objectives
• Assist with broader digital and communications work that aligns with your interests
• Apply creative and communication skills in a real-world, impact-driven context
• Learn how to manage timelines, client feedback, and deliverables with professional guidance

While Hatch Mediahouse is not your typical agency, you will experience the rigor and pace similar to that of an agency. Hatch Mediahouse clients typically are smaller in scale and are earlier in their digitalisation journeys. This offers an opportunity to understand how digitalisation affects small organisations tangibly and what new opportunities present in the industry. You will get to sit in client meetings and give you a glimpse into account and client management work in agencies.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is interested in digital communications or design and passionate about creating meaningful social impact. You should be proactive, open to feedback, and comfortable collaborating with both internal teams and clients.

This apprenticeship is designed to provide comprehensive support and mentorship, making it ideal for someone looking to build a strong portfolio through hands-on experience, regardless of their starting point. You must be able to commit to a 5-month structured apprenticeship starting on August 12, 2025, and be available to work directly with a client for a few days each week, with guidance and mentorship from the Hatch team.
