This position will place you in a team with other engaged legal professionals which currently consists of lawyers across Copenhagen, Singapore and Cyprus. Collectively, the legal team services diverse business units spread across various offices internationally in all aspects of the global maritime industry.
The Legal team is responsible for all legal work within the corporate and compliance area. This includes a wide range of legal disciplines such as company law, stock exchange law, competition law, data privacy law, trade law, financing law and contract law.
The team is absolutely crucial before, during and after new agreements and initiatives take place.

What you bring
You are a qualified lawyer in the UK or other common law jurisdiction with at least 4 years PQE gained at an international law firm or in-house counsel at a multinational organisation or a P&I Club.
You might also have both contentious and non-contentious shipping experience.

What you bring

- Experience in handling typical charterparty/COA/bill of lading disputes, cargo and other FDD and P&I claims in the dry and / or tank segments.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of shipping agreements including charterparty agreements and transhipment agreements.
- Providing legal advisory support at the pre-fixture stage.
- Proficient in written and oral communication skills.
- An engaging collaborator with good interpersonal skills and an ability to engage in constructive debate.
- Common sense, great judgement, a commitment to high standards and a curious mind.
