Legal Manager(Chinese-English)

Location:
  • Onsite
  • Occasional short-term business travel (3-10 days per trip, a few times per year) to accompany and assist the Chairman with translation and legal matters.

About the Role:

We are seeking a meticulous and bilingual Legal Manager(Chinese-English) to support senior leadership in both legal affairs and high-level business communications. This role requires fluency in Chinese and English, and a strong legal foundation. You will play a key role in legal advisory, contract management, translation, and effective cross-border business coordination support for the Chairman.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, review, and revise a variety of contracts, including procurement, sales, investment, financing, and intellectual property agreements. Maintain and optimize the company's contract template library.
  2. Participate in major business negotiations, provide legal counsel, and formulate risk mitigation clauses.
  3. Support resolution of contract performance disputes in collaboration with relevant business entities.
  4. Act as a key point of contact for cross-border legal matters, including communication with overseas stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  5. Serve as the primary Chinese-English interpreter and translator for senior management and clients during internal and external meetings, business negotiations, and investor communications.
  6. Provide high-quality oral and written interpretation (Chinese-English) for internal meetings, business negotiations, corporate communications, and other critical materials.
  7. Translate business correspondence, emails, contracts, and tender documents with precision and professionalism.
  8. Collaborate with the translation team, participate in internal training and knowledge sharing, and continuously enhance translation expertise.
  9. Assist the Chairman during overseas visits and interviews by providing interpretation and legal support as required.
  10. Handle sensitive and confidential legal matters with the utmost discretion and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Only Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents may apply.

Education & Language Skills:

  • Diploma or higher in Law, Business, or related fields.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is essential.
  • Proficiency in French is a strong advantage, as the role involves communication with French-speaking clients and partners.

Experience & Professional Skills:

  • Prior experience in corporate legal affairs or law firms.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, contract law, employment law, and intellectual property.
  • Strong skills in legal drafting, risk assessment, and business negotiation.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) .
  • Willingness to travel internationally on short notice.
  • High level of professional ethics and discretion when handling confidential information.
