Job Description

As part of our New Business Underwriting (NBU) team, you will provide underwriting support across various product lines including Life, Accident & Health, Disability Income, and Long-Term Care.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new insurance applications across Life, A&H, Disability Income, and Long-Term Care products.
• Countersign and provide guidance to junior underwriters.
• Offer underwriting support to financial planners via e-booking, phone, email, and walk-ins at the NBU counter.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distribution channels.
• Ensure achievement of department KPIs.
• Conduct underwriting training for sales and distribution teams.
• Participate in project work, including:
  Reviewing underwriting guidelines
  Streamlining processes to improve operational efficiency
• Proactively manage and mitigate business and compliance risks.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Job Requirements

• A degree with at least 5 years' experience in underwriting Life, Accident & Health risks.
• Candidates without a degree but with relevant underwriting experience or certifications may also be considered.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
• Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player.
