ob Description

The successful candidate will work with Prof Yu Hao at the Department of Biological Sciences on phenotypic examination, gene characterization, and gene editing of crops under a project titled "Bioengineering and synthetic engineering for enhanced performance" in the CREATE programme (Singapore Indoor Farming System).

The main responsibilities of the position include characterization of genes related to important agronomic and/or plant immunity traits and performing genetic engineering and gene editing of indoor farming crops.

Qualifications

Ph.D degree in Plant Functional Genomics and/or Plant Immunity from a reputable institution.

Skills:
The candidate should have a proven track record in performing physiological, molecular, genetic, biochemical, and bioimaging experiments in studying plant gene function and plant immunity. Skills in gene editing are essential to this position.

Experience:
  • Prior experiences in plant immunity, plant molecular biology, plant physiology, genetics, and gene editing are necessary.
  • The proven experience in working on epigenetics and epitranscriptome will be an advantage.
