The Intellectual Property Manager guarantees the optimum protection of the technological position of the Group worldwide and thus provides marketing instruments which contribute to acquisition and maintenance of market positions.

Job Description

• Conduct all activities of the group in the field of Intellectual Property
• Make sure that inventions are transformed to valid legal positions which effectively contribute to company's market position worldwide
• Manage company patent portfolio, decide on maintenance or abandonment of rights and make sure that the available resources are adopted effectively
• Analyse patent portfolios of competitors and manage on actions for optimization of the own position
• Represent the company at patent offices during IP proceedings
• Make sure that company's Know-how is effectively protected and handle on form and substance of Know-how management
• Assess the "Freedom to Operate" status for the company's products and services
• Manage company's trademark portfolio, manage maintenance or abandonment of rights and make sure that the available resources are adopted effectively
• Evaluate and draft Confidentiality Agreements, License Agreements and Technical Cooperation Agreements
• Guarantee the protection of company's interests in the field of IP within relevant projects

Job Requirements

• Master or PhD in Chemistry
• Qualification as Patent Attorney with international qualification
• Qualification as Trademark & Design Attorney
• 10 years+ of professional experience in an industry patent department, preferably at regional/global level
• Likewise good understanding of technical, legal and economic issues
• Good internal and external communication skills
• Very good English in oral and written
