Job Summary:
The Aftersales Service Manager will strategically oversee and manage our aftersales service team across all territories where our Group operates, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. This position is vital for efficient scheduling, coordination of service activities, and the crucial management of spare parts sales. The role demands strong technical capabilities in various compressor types and a commitment to delivering timely, positive solutions to complex customer queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Team Leadership: Lead and manage the aftersales service team, including technicians and support staff, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
- Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain robust customer relationships, promptly addressing service needs and concerns, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Spare Parts & Service Contracts: Collaborate effectively with the sales team and customers to identify and capitalize on opportunities for spare parts sales and service contracts. Ensure all warranty claims are processed accurately and in accordance with agreements.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement efficient service schedules, optimizing resource utilization. Oversee the timely and effective execution of all service and maintenance activities, maintaining meticulous records of customer interactions and spare parts inventory.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all service activities to enhance overall efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Vendor & Procurement Management: Build strong relationships with vendors, develop costings, coordinate procurement, and manage tender bidding and documentation specifically for customers in Asia and the Middle East.
- Technical Support & Training: Conduct regular training and development sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the service team. Provide hands-on technical support to customers and the team as required, including travel to customer locations globally.
- Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with regional Service Managers (e.g., from Korea, Switzerland, USA, Thailand) to provide comprehensive front-line support to the Group's customers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical field). Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance and repair are advantageous.
- Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of dedicated experience in a technical service or aftersales support role, with a proven track record in managing service operations and driving spare parts sales.
At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Crucially, demonstrated hands-on experience in aftersales services including commissioning, spare parts management, and servicing of gas compressor systems. This must include experience with Centrifugal, Diaphragm, Screw, and Reciprocating compressor types within the Oil & Gas industry.
Experience with other rotating equipment is highly preferred. - Skills:
Strong leadership, team management, and excellent organizational skills.
Exceptional technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication (written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus) and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools, service management software, and inventory management systems.
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and respond swiftly to management requirements. - Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively internationally as required.
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when necessary.
Willingness to work in Singapore on local terms (non-expatriate compensation).
