Purpose of the Job

In order to drive our debarbonisation efforts, we are looking for a motivated and driven Executive to lead our Future Fuels activities.

This position is accountable for our compliance and decarbonization activity within the future fuels space. The role will also be the sole owner of the P&L for future fuels, with responsibility to present investment and trading strategies to the Berge Bulk Senior Leadership team.

The position requires a highly driven and self-motivated team player who will liaise between the relevant stakeholders to present commercial benefits of future fuels while ensuring safety and compliance across the fleet's future fuel positions from both a physical and derivatives perspective.

You will also be expected to undertake a range of activities that include but are not limited to project evaluation, sustainability feasibility, environmental compliance and safety, as well as monitoring fuel markets while being able to report on trends within the space.

You will enjoy using your planning and analytical skills to collate data and report value capture.

Key Responsibilities

• P&L for Future Fuels
• Investment analysis with the Future Fuels space
• Assist the Commercial team by providing regular pricing and availability information on Future Fuels.
• Liaise with the Head of Trading & Analytics to assist with data collation while providing forward pricing support to Chartering and Operators.
• Checking details before inputting internal trade details into IMOS
• Keep an accurate record of all trades and positions so that the Risk Management desk has a clear view at any given time of what the business' market exposure is;
• Assist the Risk management desk with hedge execution and trade administration
• Assist in the performance of niche analysis, for example: high versus low sulphur physical deals; LNG viability and Carbon pricing
• Work with Trading and Risk Analysts to compute percentage of the fleet covered by IMO hedging strategies
• Support Risk team on managing internal Hedge book to ensure exposure is within approved limits.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Degree in Commerce, Maritime Studies or other relevant qualifications.
• Possess IT skills, excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High ability to multitask and work between Commercial, Operations and Risk team requirements
• Positive thinker and dependable team player
• Experience in various fuel / shipping departments, shipping operations, commercial understanding of P&L relating to ship voyages and knowledge of IMOS and IT software will be an advantage
