Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Traders to support our global coffee procurement operations.

Candidates must have at least 10 years of relevant experience.

As the role involves frequent communication with colleagues in Japan and across our Japan-based operations, proficiency in Japanese is essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coffee Procurement

• Analyze supply and demand forecasts for group companies
• Prepare supplier offers based on market forecasts
• Purchase green/soluble coffee for group companies
• Handle supplier/partner negotiations and ensure contract fulfillment

2. Contract Administration

• Review new contracts each month
• Monitor outstanding contracts quarterly
• Prepare necessary documents related to coffee purchases

3. Budgeting and Analysis

• Prepare budgets and analyze sales, purchase, and gross profit
• Track delayed contracts and purchase/pricing progress
• Perform simulations and rolling forecasts

4. Operational Support

• Present market outlooks and forecasts to operating companies
• Propose new origins/specs for cost reduction and efficient purchasing

5. Communication & Reporting

• Maintain regular communication with colleagues in Europe
• Engage suppliers through visits, online meetings, calls, or emails

Requirements

Minimum 10 years' experience in coffee procurement

Proficiency in business English and Japanese

Strong understanding of contract and budget management
