Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to lead research efforts that inform CDAC's programmes and strategies on social mobility. The role involves curating and analysing research, identifying trends, and conducting in-house studies to better understand beneficiary needs. You will also collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive data-informed improvements and long-term impact.

Job Responsibilities

• Curate journals on social mobility to inform programme development. Prepare research briefs and share them with staff via internal communications.

• Maintain an internal repository of news articles, journals, and research briefs related to social mobility.

• Identify emerging trends and collaborate with the Assistant Director (Data and Research) to present findings and their implications for CDAC programmes at management and staff meetings. Use insights to support departments in reviewing and enhancing their programmes.

• Work with departments to identify research areas that deepen understanding of beneficiaries, improve programme design, and enable long-term tracking of outcomes.

• Lead internal research studies, in collaboration with department staff, to better understand beneficiary needs. Collect, record, and analyse data; draw conclusions; and present findings to management.

• Build networks with the National Council of Social Services, local research institutes, other Self-Help Groups, and government agencies (e.g., ComLink, MOE, MSF) to support departmental initiatives.

• Collaborate on joint research projects with academic, industry, and government partners to advance CDAC's mission and enhance social mobility for low-income Singaporeans.

• Work with the Data team to interpret macro trends and internal data, supporting strategic review and planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• Proven experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

• Ability to synthesise research findings into actionable insights.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.

• Experience in writing research briefs, reports, and internal communications.

• Strong interpersonal skills with experience in engaging and collaborating with internal departments, research partners, government agencies, and community organisations.

• Sound understanding of issues related to social mobility, low-income communities, and public/social policy.
