Requirements:
Shipbuilding Planning and Preparation
- Confirmation of construction schedule, detailed drawings, and specifications. Participation in regular meetings with shipowners, shipyards, designers, and other relevant parties.
Shipbuilding Quality Control
- Verify that materials and parts used conform to specifications. Checking the progress and quality of each construction process to ensure proper quality. Perform inspections, Non-destructive testing (NDT), welding inspections, painting inspections, etc. Observe and confirm various tests (buoyancy tests, pressure tests, functional tests, etc.).
Shipbuilding Design supervision
- Check and approve blueprints and change drawings. Handling of review and approval of design changes that occur during construction.
Shipbuilding Safety Management
- Planning HSSE management. Patrol and ensure compliance with safety standards within the shipyard. Reporting and handling of safety issues and incidents.
Shipbuilding Process Control
- Monitoring the progress of construction according to the schedule. Responding to and coordinating schedule changes and delays.
Shipbuilding Reporting and Recording
- Reports to head office about progress, problems, budget etc. Preservation of important records, such as inspection results and test results.
Communication and coordination
- Liaison and coordination with shipyards, designers, shipowners, standards bodies, etc. Prompt response and resolution of problems and issues that arise.
Compliance with laws, regulations and standards
- Verification of compliance with International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Classification Society (Class), Japanese law and regulations and other standards and laws. Management of inspections and witnessing by standards bodies.
Shipbuilding: Final verification and handover
- Completion inspection and verification during the final process.
- Confirmation of final trials, such as sea trials. Witnessing and confirmation of the final handover of the vessel.
Preparation for cable laying work after delivery
- Order and load the materials and equipment needed for the cable laying work. Planning a suitable crew rotation schedule and the operation schedule. Cable installation project planning support.
Defect warranty
- When a machine problem occurs, troubleshoot to identify the cause and resolve it after delivery. Negotiate compensation with the shipyard in the event of a problem occurring and maintain the ship in a sound condition.
Cable laying Project Operation and Vessel Maintenance
- Quickly identify the cause of mechanical or electrical troubles that occurred to the working vessels and establish a proper restore/repair plan. Take precautions to prevent troubles on working vessels. Handle operational issues, repairs, and/or modifications to Cable cable- laying Vessel fleet. Liaise and coordinate with various stakeholders, Vessel masters and shipyard and vendors to schedule repairs and maintenance needed for the operations.
- Prepare proposals for docking requirements and specifications. Check and ensure that spare parts inventory management and condition are sufficient to support repair and maintenance schedules. Ensure quality, environment, health & safety requirements are met.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of power cable laying construction supervision experience on site, and Minimum 1 year of Engineering experience in an offshore wind farm construction project.
- Minimum 4 years of higher education in maritime technology, including ship operation management and maintenance management, design and development of maritime-related equipment, equipment, and systems, and design and management of ports and routes.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Marine technical superintendent in shipyards.
- Experience in large-scale civil construction project sites over SGD120M
- General Civil Works
- Experience in large-scale marine construction project sites over SGD100M
- Marine construction works
- Experience in offshore wind farm construction project sites
- Cable laying works
- Well-versed in ship maintenance requirements.
- Good knowledge of ship engineering, structural mechanics, marine engineering, marine equipment, and cable laying work
- Good written and interpersonal skills.
- Positive working attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive troubleshooting/finding root cause with shipyard engineers and workers during the project period.
