Roles and Responsibilities

• \tDevelop and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) specific to power plant needs

• \tPrepare, inspect, and maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring operational safety

• \tAnalyze blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute welding tasks

• \tSelect appropriate welding techniques (e.g., 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G, orbital welding) based on material and application

• \tOversee and perform welding operations on structural and piping systems

• \tConduct welding inspections and quality checks, and document results

• \tTroubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions

• \tEnsure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout all welding activities

Requirements

• \tDiploma/Nitec/Bachelor's in Welding Engineering or related discipline

• \tCSWIP certification preferred

• \tProficient in various welding methods (e.g., metal arc, gas cutting, PP welding)

• \tExperience in heavy industry or power plant environments is an advantage

• \tAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics

• \tStrong understanding of welding metallurgy and heat analysis

• \tCapable of working independently, handling heavy lifting, and extended physical tasks

• \tExcellent problem-solving and teamwork skills
