Responsibilities

You are responsible for leading a team to generating sales through creative retail displays and providing an excellent in-store experience. You should be an independent and agile team lead who is curious, loves problem solving and enjoys with speaking to stakeholders. You will engage the team and employ graphic design and visual merchandising principles and sensitivities to convert shoppers into prospects by driving branding and sales objectives and maximise profitability. You are expected to:

  • Lead a team of graphic designers and visual merchandisers and optimise their capabilities
  • Devise systems and processes to streamline workflow for the team
  • Oversee festive décor process end-to-end, from liaising with contractors, budgeting and approvals, right though to execution across 5 format.
  • Oversee store openings and renovations, ensuring stores are consistently brand-aligned in aesthetics across all touchpoints.
  • Create and oversee implementation of visual merchandising strategies
  • Ensure strategies are in line with the format, products, and target market
  • Generate visual mock ups of displays that meet the format's requirements
  • Create native high-resolution graphic files and ensure design scalability for large-format prints.
  • Develop brand application guides, working with textures, fonts, iconography, and brand systems.
  • Manage POSM systems and digital screen content and communicate with internal stakeholders on compliance.
  • Create visual displays for retail display areas.
  • Source props, creative materials, and accessories for displays.
  • Install and set up thematic displays at entrances, walkways, counters, or supervise contractors hired for this purpose
  • Change displays to promote new product launches or to reflect festive or seasonal themes
  • Ensure uniformity of displays across multiple store locations
  • Liaise with other retail professionals, including buyers, marketing executives, and vendors as voice for the team
  • Research lifestyle and design trends that will inform the visual merchandising strategy
  • Use applied skills in graphic design and visual merchandising to enhance the aesthetic appeal of retail displays, walkways, counters, and in-store displays
  • Manage budget and communicate to stakeholders for approval.
  • Create, organise and maintain assets in graphic and photo archive.

Requirements
  • Degree/ Diploma with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in leadership role
  • Visual design skills with a strong visual merchandising portfolio
  • Experience in graphic design and visual merchandising
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel
  • Comfortable with use of ladder and working at heights (i.e. setting up store displays, festive decoration, collaterals and posters in stores)
  • Will be required to travel to various branches from time to time
