English Immersion Programme (EIP) Teacher - CEFR A1-A2

Position Summary:

The EIP teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, scaffolded, and communicative English language instruction to international students at beginner to elementary proficiency levels (CEFR A1-A2). The teacher plays a pivotal role in developing foundational literacy and oracy, fostering cultural adaptation, and promoting confidence in real-world language use. Instruction integrates phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and communicative functions across contexts relevant to students' age and academic needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver learner-centred lessons aligned with CEFR A1-A2 descriptors. Experienced in delivering differentiated instructions will be an advantage.
  • Build students' foundational language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Incorporate phonemic awareness and phonics instruction to support literacy development.
  • Use visuals, gestures, and simplified input to ensure comprehensibility.
  • Employ interactive, immersive, and multisensory strategies to enhance language acquisition.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress through formative assessments and differentiated feedback.
  • Mark assignments and examination scripts (if required)
  • Assess and record students' progress according to department and school policie
  • Organising relevant outings for language exposure, events or activities when needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align instruction with the broader school's language goals
  • Support students' social integration and functional communication in school life.
  • Complete all administrative duties related to teaching EIP
  • Maintain good communication with students, parents and colleagues
  • Attend Parent-Teacher-Meetings (if necessary)


Required Qualifications and Experience:

Academic:
  • A recognized Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, English Language, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
  • A TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification (minimum 120 hours) is essential, preferably with a focus on young learners or beginners or a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) is an advantage

Professional Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language, ideally in an immersion or international setting.
  • Proven experience teaching learners at CEFR A1-A2 levels, with an emphasis on early language development.
  • Familiarity with CEFR-based assessment tools and curriculum design.

  • Clear communicator: models standard English with clarity and consistency.
