Responsibilities

- To lead and develop strategic direction, operation model and processes for the team at regional level, aligned with global direction.

- To lead and provide coaching to team in day-to-day operations, statutory and compliance resolution, operation projects and continuous improvement programs effectively and professionally with proper approach and methodology.

- To elevate and provide direction to teams to proactively initiate new projects for continuous improvement and enhance payroll solutions, and deliverables by applying lean six sigma, and any PMP methodologies in project planning, execution, documentation, reporting, governance and post review.

- To manage service providers by strictly adhering to the contract and SLA for payroll deliverables, and system support.

- To lead legal/compliance audits in payroll & benefit and propose resolution for each finding. Also develop relationships with local authorities, employers federation, etc.

- To provide comprehensive, constructive and effective proposal with thorough research performed on operation matters from time-to-time for new ways of working, enhancement, resolution of compliance and risk matters.

- To partner and work collaboratively with other stakeholders with influential and effective communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above.

- 5+ years of payroll operations experience across 5 or more countries, with proven ability to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional payroll cycles involving compliance with local statutory regulations (e.g., CPF, EPF, tax filings).

- 5+ years of people management experience, including 2+ years leading teams of 10+ payroll professionals across multiple geographies, with a track record of improving team productivity and accuracy rates.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing both in-house payroll systems and third-party vendors (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP), including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and SLA performance management.

- Successfully led or participated in payroll automation or transformation projects, such as system implementation, integration with HRIS/finance tools, or process optimization, resulting in measurable improvements

Preferred Qualifications

- Skilled in process optimization.

- Effective stakeholder management skills.

- Exhibits a keen aptitude for facilitating and navigating changes amidst challenging business demands.

- Shows a deep passion for payroll, and willingness to grow together with the company and the team.
