We are looking for a Product Engineering Manager to lead and scale our product development with cross-functional engineering teams. This individual is pivotal in driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable and secure digital payment products for our merchants and partners across the region. You will be responsible for shaping product vision, defining roadmaps, prioritizing features, and leading the team to deliver high-quality, innovative products.
Responsibilities
• Own the full product lifecycle-including vision, roadmap, prioritization, and success metrics-for one or more digital payment platforms.
• Conduct user and market research, analyze usage data, and gather stakeholder feedback to drive informed product decisions.
• Prioritize features based on regulatory requirements, customer needs, business impact and technical feasibility.
• Define clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide the engineering team.
• Direct product launches, ensure go-to-market readiness, and drive post-release enhancements based on performance and user feedback.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Compliance, Operations, Sales, Regional) to align products with local market and regulatory needs.
• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers responsible for end-to-end product delivery.
• Contribute to product's technical architecture, design and platform scalability to support regional compliance (e.g., MAS, BNM, BOT) and growth.
• Maintain engineering quality through code reviews, security audits, performance tuning, and robust CI/CD practices.
• Manage technical debt and platform health in parallel with new feature development.
• Manage external integrations with vendors and partners, including acquiring banks, payment gateways, and e-wallets.
• Serve as the single point of accountability for both product outcomes and engineering execution.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and fintech regulations across Southeast Asia.•
Requirement
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in product development, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven track record of delivering digital products in a fintech or payments-focused environment.
• Strong experience with API architecture, microservices, and cloud-native applications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in fintech (e.g., PCI-DSS, AML/KYC, MAS TRM Guidelines).
• Experience managing distributed or cross-functional teams, ideally in a regional or remote-first setting.
• Familiarity with modern system, web and mobile tech stacks (e.g., JavaScript, React, Flutter, Java, Python).
• Prior experience integrating with financial institutions, PSPs, e-wallets, or acquiring banks is a plus.
