Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the overall test strategy and detailed test plans for projects or programs.
- Establish clear testing objectives, deliverables, and scope aligned with business goals.
- Determine and allocate the necessary resources (personnel, tools, environments) to support testing activities.
- Provide effort, timeline, and cost estimates for all testing phases.
- Lead and coordinate testing teams (internal/external, onshore/offshore) through the entire project lifecycle.
- Delegate responsibilities based on team members skills and expertise.
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance capability and performance.
- Promote a collaborative, results-oriented testing culture.
- Establish, standardize, and enforce testing processes an methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Supervise the execution of various testing types including functional, regression, connectivity, SIT, and UAT.
- Ensure testing is aligned with project goals and schedules.
- Manage defect lifecycle logging, tracking, and driving resolution.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all testing matters.
- Regularly communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
- Deliver comprehensive status reports and key testing metrics.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to testing with documented contingency plans.
- Collaborate with automation teams to support the development and maintenance of test scripts.
- Uphold compliance with quality standards and conduct defect root cause analysis.
- Encourage a culture of quality, ownership, and accountability.
- Manage testing budgets, including tools, training, and staffing.
- Forecast and plan resource needs based on future project demands.
- Create dashboards and reports to provide transparency on testing activities and results.
- Monitor KPIs such as test coverage, defect rates, and execution progress to inform decision-making.
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of all test documentation and ensure audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory testing standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven leadership in managing cross-functional testing teams.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, particularly within Waterfall frameworks (Agile/DevOps also beneficial).S
- Hands-on experience with test management tools like JIRA.
- Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Selenium, ARIOS, UFT) is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred certifications: ISTQB Advanced Level, PMP, Agile certifications.
