The A*STAR Model Factory at SIMTech is looking for a highly motivated and innovative Research Specialist. This position is tailored for individuals with a Diploma in Engineering or a related field, even without prior experience. The Research Specialist will support smart manufacturing-related research & development, including smart engineering systems and cyber-physical production systems. They will also help to maintain lab equipment, conduct data analysis, and will have opportunities to showcase the Model Factory through engaging tours and demonstrations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong interest in smart manufacturing, a basic understanding of cyber-physical systems, excellent teamwork and analytical skills, effective communication, and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of smart engineering systems and cyber-physical production systems
• Support R&D projects focused on smart/advanced manufacturing technologies
• Collaborate with team members to test and evaluate new solutions
• Maintain and operate lab equipment and smart sensors
• Collect and analyse data to support decision-making processes
• Support Model Factory tours and demonstrations for visitors and stakeholders
